This policy outlines Checkly’s global parental leave benefit. Statutory parental leave rights provided under local law always apply.

We offer up to 14 weeks of paid parental leave, which can be taken in maximum two blocks before the child’s first birthday or the first anniversary of adoption. This applies whether you're the birth parent, second parent or adoptive parent.

You are eligible for this paid parental leave if you become a parent while working at Checkly.

Your annual leave will be reduced by 1/12 for each full calendar month of parental leave.

Commission or bonus is not paid during your parental leave.

Statutory entitlements & local benefits

Parental leave entitlements required by local law apply automatically.

If your local jurisdiction offers more generous parental leave or pay entitlements than this policy, you are entitled to those.

If your jurisdiction of employment provides pay assistance for parental or extended leave, you are required to apply for those benefits.

Example: If you are employed in the United States, you are required to apply for state benefits such as Paid Family Medical Leave or Short-Term Disability, where available.

Notice & planning

Please inform your manager and People Ops about the pregnancy or expected birth or adoption as early as possible, so that we can plan coverage and ensure a smooth handover.

Additional notice requirements may apply depending on your country of employment and will be communicated separately.

Company benefit & approval

Any parental leave benefits provided by Checkly that exceed statutory or legally required entitlements (including paid parental leave top-ups) are a voluntary company benefits.

The timing, structure, and use of this additional company-provided benefit are subject to approval by Checkly, based on:
