- They take responsibility, solve problems proactively, and go beyond their defined role when necessary
- They contribute to institutional knowledge
- They ensure transparency, alignment, and efficiency in async and sync interactions
- They save others time and make others better
- They seek feedback, improve skills, and stay curious
Praise
Make sure your high performers know that you see them as a high performer.
Make praise constructive by being specific about
- what it is they do so well
- what the impact is
Praising can be done at many different times and many different places, such as:
- #praise channel in Slack
- Monday kickoff meeting with the entire team
- Weekly #staff channel reminder: “What raccoon should be praised for their contribution to a WIN in this week’s team meeting? WINS are related to progress on our goals (and if we can, we'll link them to our values). Also ask managers in your team!”
